Discipleship means commitment to the person of Christ and His message.
What is the center of His message? THE KINGDOM OF GOD !!
He defined the Kingdom of God with different parables.
When Jesus mentioned the Kingdom, it is the reign of God; as in the Jewish tradition, that God is the center. So, the Kingdom of God means God is the ruler of your life.
There were two wrong interpretation at the time of Jesus and some years later:
- The political kingdom. Since Romans had destroyed them, they expected a Messiah to defeat the Romans.
- Apocaliptic expectation of the Kingdom. They expected the end of the world, Messiah would come and destroyed everything then build new things.
The Kingdom of God is not a destruction of my enemy. God didn't make mistake with His creation of this world.
God wants our cooperation, and use our freedom. Each one of us has his own role in this world, to cooperate with God, not to destroy but to renew. This is the Kingdom of God.
You have to live today and this is your place to actualize loving (that is the Kingdom of God).
If you miss today, then you miss it. It will not come again.
